A five-year-old boy named Minhaj was crushed to death by a battery-powered autorickshaw in Shibganj Bazar area of Mymensingh’s Gafargaon on Thursday (July 15th) morning. The deceased was identified as Saidur Rahman of Yashra village under Minhaj upazila.
According to eyewitness sources, Minhaj and his mother left home for Shibganj Bazar around 10:30 am on Thursday to go to Eid Bazaar. Minhaj and his mother came to Shibganj market with a battery-powered easybike. Minhaj’s mother wants to run across the road while paying the rent for the autobike. At that moment, a speeding battery-powered easybike coming from behind crushed Minhaj and fled. He died on the way to the Upazila Health Complex after being rescued by locals.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Anukul Sarkar said the police had gone to the spot.
