Movie ‘Gaariwala’ brought out by Impress Telefilm and directed by Ashraf Shishir is to compete in the 3rd Airano International Film Festival (AIFF) in Italy. The four daylong festival begins from July 30 to be concluded on August 2. ‘Gaariwala’ received approval from the Bangladesh Censor Board on May 25. The movie has duration of 86 minutes and was completed within thirty days in Gazipur, Pabna and FDC by the funding of the Government of Bangladesh.
‘Gaariwala’ already boasts an achievement of eight top prizes in a varied range of categories in different film festivals.. The movie received the prizes in international film festivals held in the United States, Italy, Spain, India and Chile. The award for the best picture at the ‘7th Picnic Film Festival’ was its last haul. The festival was held for five days from June 23 – 27 in Spain.
The plot of the movie focuses on the war waged between poverty on one side and two siblings and their mother on another. The casts Rokaya Prachi and Risul Islam Asad, Masum Aziz, Imran, Faruk, Abdur Rahman Razib, R J Mukul, Saki Farzana and child artistes Maruf, Kabbo, Kinuo, Ridho.
Previously the feature film had beaten 53 movies to receive the ‘Narrative Feature: Honourable Mention Award’ at the 7th Trenton Film Festival, USA. Before that the movie received the Best Full Length Movie Award at the 7th Festival Internacional De Cine Tarapac, organised by Chile and Best Movie at The Gulf of Naples Independent Film Festival, organised by Italy. The movie won the best screenplay, best supporting actor and best child artiste awards at the ‘North Carolina International Film Festival’ held between January 24 and 25 in USA. It also grabbed the Best Picture Award at International Film Festival of Rajasthan held earlier this year as well.
