A Dhaka court on Wednesday recorded the depositions of one more teacher of Jahangirnagar University (JU) in the sensational Zubair Ahmed murder case.
Judge ABM Nizamul Haque of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 of Dhaka Wednesday recorded the depositions of Professor Dr Md Arju Mian, also another member of the inquiry committee. Later the tribunal fixed March 19 for further hearing.
With this a total of 14 witnesses testified in the murder case. Zubair, an English Department student of the university, was beaten by some Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists on January 8 in 2012 and he later succumbed to his injuries in a city hospital at Gulshan in the capital the following day.
A case was later filed with Ashulia Police Station in this connection. Police submitted the charge sheet against 13 BCL members on April 8 in 2012. On September 8 last year, the Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 framed charges against BCL activists in the case.
