Chittagong Bureau : A 5-day long Furniture Fair will be started in the port city from December 4 next at GEC Convention centre which will continue upto 9 pm of December 8 next. This was disclosed at a press conference arranged at chittagong press club hall yesterday morning. Bangladesh Furniture owners Association is arranging the fair. Chittagong Events, a event management company will arrange the all infrastructure facilities of the fair as they signed a deal with the Furniture Owners Samity on November 7 last . The fair will remain open for all from 10 am to 9 pm everday and on the concluding day a colourful cultural function will be held in the fair venue. State Minister for Land ministry Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Javed will inaugurate the fair as Chief Guest and the President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mahbubul Alam will grace it as special guest. City Mayor Manzoor Alam has consented to grace the concluding session of the fair as chief guest, the press meet was told. Atleast 25 furniture manufacting company will participate the fair. This is 6th fair of the Furniture Association. Co-sponsor of the fair are Legacy Furniture, brothers furniture, Hatil furniture, GMG Plus furniture, Vegas furniture, Luxury furniture and Freedom furniture. The media partners of the fair are Samay Tv, Ctg News.com and Radio Athai. Convenor of the fair Maksudur Rahman read out the written statement before the pressmen. Among others, senior vice president of Dokan Malik Samity Alhaj Md. Shahabuddin, member secretary MN Azam khan were also present in the press meet.
