Speakers at a post-rally discussion stressed the need for full-length implementation of the Right to Information (RTI) Act to empower people, making all public services transparent and accountable.
Ensuring free flow of information from all government and non-government organizations can ensure development of the country and good governance, they told the meeting held on Friday at the Deputy Commissioner’s office conference hall in Rajshahi marking the International Right to Information Day. District Administration and District Information office organised the function with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Alamgir Kabir in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) SM Abdul Kader, Superintendent of Police Md Shahidullah, Additional District Magistrate Nasima Khatun, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Abu Hayat Rahmatullah and Deputy Director of Department of Information Md Shamsuzzaman, among others, addressed the meeting.
