Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque has been elected president of BCS Foreign Affairs Association (BCSFAA) uncontested.
Director General (Europe) at the Foreign Ministry Mohammad Khorshed Alam Khastagir has been elected general secretary while Syed Masud Mahmood Khundokar and Nahida Sobhan have been elected vice-presidents.
The election commission announced the results of BCSFAA first ever polls on Thursday that held from June 5-8 to elect the office bearers of its executive committee.
Other office bearers of the body are joint secretary M Mosharraf Hossain, organizing secretary M Khaled, treasurer Waliur Rahman, external publicity and public relations secretary Ishrat Jahan, social welfare secretary ABM Sarwer-e-Alom Sarker, sports and cultural secretary ASM Sayem and office secretary Nawrid Sharmin.
Four members of the committee are Mahfuza Sultana, Moumita Zeenat, M Jasim Uddin and Goulam Kumar Dey.
Chief Election Commissioner and Director General (Americas) at the Foreign Ministry Abida Islam thanked all members of the association for their active participation and support in holding the election smoothly.
