The government has issued a gazette notification imposing strict lockdown from 6am on July 23 to 12 midnight on August 5 to prevent coronavirus infection.
It was said in a circular sent from the cabinet department on Monday.
The circular state that considering the overall situation, food and beverage production/processing, mills and factories, transporting agricultural products (seed, fertilizer, pesticide, machines, etc.), food and food grains carrying vehicles, relief distribution, health services, Covid-19 vaccination-related industry, will be out of the
purview of the restrictions and the staff will be allowed to move about after showing ID cards. However, other industries including garments will remain closed.
It is to be noted that even though the ongoing restrictions have been relaxed from midnight on July 14, to 6am on July 23. The nationwide strict lockdown will start from 6 am July 23. The government imposed a one-week strict lockdown from July 1 following the rise of Covid-19 infections and deaths in the country. Later, it was extended for another week till July 14 midnight.
