Staff Reporter :The arson attack has returned again as miscreants hurled a petrol bomb on a fish-laden truck at Dagonbhuiyan in Feni district in the early hours of Friday, leaving five people, including the driver, severely injured.The victims were identified as Mohammad Yusuf, 55, Abul Hossain, 49, Mohammad Wasim, 28, Rabiul Islam, 16, and Mohammad Rokon. Earlier on Thursday, after a short break of few days the country witnessed two fresh grisly petrol bomb attacks in which the driver of a truck was burnt alive and five others were injured in Chandpur Sadar upazila. Officer-in-Charge of Dagonbhuiyan Police Station Abul Faisal said the condition of Mohammad Yusuf, Abul Hossain and Mohammad Wasim, who received burn injuries of early Friday’s petrol bomb attack, is critical. They were admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital, he said.”A group of miscreants launched petrol bomb attack on the truck in Matubhuiyan area at about 5:00am. As a result, five people, including the truck driver, received serious burn injuries,” the OC said. He said, the truck was heading towards Noakhali after loading fish from Nimshar Bazar.After a short break of few days, the country witnessed two grisly petrol bomb attacks on Thursday in which a truck driver was burnt alive and five others were injured in Chandpur Sadar upazila.Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) A K M Shahidul Hoque at a function on Friday claimed that the prevailing situation is gradually being improved.”As the people don’t have any link with the ongoing subversive activities in the name of movement, the present situation is gradually being improved,” he told journalists at a function at Noapara in Jessore. He said, people would have to remain with the police to resist the troublemakers, especially those who are involved in arson attack.”The most of the deadly petrol bomb attacks are being taken place on the highways across the country. So we are working round the clock to ensure security on the highways,” the IGP said.
