A brave freedom fighter named Zamir Ali (70) died after being hit by a motorcycle while going out to pray at the mosque in Juri Upazila of Moulvibazar district.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon on September 6 in Halgora area of Juri-Lathitila road. Zamir Ali’s house is in the local Halgora village. The entire upazila has fallen in mourning.
According to eyewitness sources, Zamir Ali went out after offering Asr prayers at the Halgora Mosque located along the Juri-Lathitila road around 4:30 pm. At that time, a speeding motorcycle hit him and threw him on the road. He later died on the way to the hospital. Officer-in-charge Juri police station Sanjay Chakraborty confirmed the matter.
