Bodruzzaman Bhuiyan, a valiant freedom fighter, died of old-age complications at his own residence in Narsingdi on Thursday evening.
He was 80, family sources said.
Bhuiyan left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.
He was buried at his family graveyard here with full state honour after a namaz-e-zanaja held at Chinishpur Eid ground.
In a condolence message, local lawmaker Lt Colonel (retd) Nazrul Islam Hiro expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Bodruzzaman Bhuiyan.
He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
