Heroic freedom fighter Moyez Uddin Master (70) was beaten and attacked with knife and other local arms at Gafargaon under Mymensingh district. Moyez Uddin Master has been admitted to the Upazila Health Complex.
The incident took place in Chakpara area of Rasulpur village of the upazila on Monday morning. Moyez Uddin Master was Former Commander of Rasulpur Union Muktijoddha Command and land donator and founder Headmaster of Chawkpara Government Primary School.
School teacher Shariful Islam Sayem, 35, son of Moyez Uddin Master, said, a group of 7/8 armed men led by neighbors Rafiqul Islam, 54, and Ripon, 25, were forcibly removing soil from their land on Monday morning (around 5:30 pm). Armed men led by Rafiqul Islam (54) and Ripon (25) beat his elderly father with a rod and chopped him to death with Ramda and left him on the ground with serious injuries when his father, freedom fighter Moyez Uddin Master, went out for a walk after Fajr prayers.
When the locals saw us and informed us, we rescued our father and admitted him to the Upazila Health Complex. School teacher Shariful Islam Sayem said their family had a dispute with neighbors Rafiqul Islam and Ripon over land boundaries.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Anukul Sarkar said, police had been sent to the spot.
