A ten day long free plastic surgery and an eye camp sponsored jointly by a local voluntary service organization Faridpur Welfare Foundation (FWF) and Holland based Dokters van de Wereld will begin here from February11.
According to FWF sources, the free camps will begin here at Faridpur General Hospital, the registration of the patients till February 8 and the operable patients will be selected on February 9. In the eye camp the poor patients will be operated upon for implanting Intra Ocular Lens (IOL).
The sources said that the plastic surgery camp will be held on 12th February (Wednesday) at Faridpur General hospital where Dr. P.H.M Spawn, Dr. C.A.Sponk and Dr. R.P.E. Niemeijer, three reputed surgeons from Holland along with local surgeons will perform the operations.
The patients with congenital cleft lip, cleft palate and also of burn injury will be operated upon in the ten days long camp. The registration of the patients needing plastic surgery treatment will also continue till February 8.BMA, Faridpur unit will arrange it. They also extend their all kinds of assistance in the camps.
