Poura elections: Free, fair polls in Gaibandha demanded

Speakers at a function said district administration and other organs of the government is determine to hold free, fair, peaceful, credible, transparent and neutral municipal election on December 30.
They also expressed their view that it is our foremost duty to present an acceptable municipal election where people’s hopes and aspirants and expectations will be reflected.
They made this comments while addressing an inaugural function of day long election training course for the presiding officers and assistant presiding officers at the hall room of Gaibandha Government Girls’ High School of the town yesterday morning.
District election office organized the training course with the directives of the Election Commission Bangladesh.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) M. Abdus Samad addressed the inaugural function of training course as the chief guest. Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashraful Islam was present as the special guest. Returning officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) M. Shamsul Azam presided over the inaugural function.
Gaibandha Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Ashraful Momin Khan, District Election Officer M. Shahinur Islam Pramanik, Upazila Election Officer M. Shahinur Alam and Officer in Charge of Sadar Thana Mehedi Hasan spoke on the occasion.
DC M. Abdus Samad in his address urged the officials those are engaged in forthcoming Gaibandha Municipal election to carry out their election duties with utmost sincerity and honesty.
The DC also asked them to be more serious, alert and assertive on the day of the election so that the voters can cast their votes peacefully and properly.
