A free eye treatment camp has been set up in the remote area of Kapasia upazila of Gazipur by the voluntary organization ‘Manabata Ghar’ in collaboration with Shahjahan Sriti Welfare Foundation on Sunday. Prescriptions and medicines were distributed at free of cost to one thousand eye patients in the camp at Ujli Dighirpar Alim Madrasa ground in Tok Union. Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute has cooperated in the overall management of the local Tok Sangbad Pathak Electronic Media News Shrota Forum.
Former MP Bir Muktijoddha Muhammad Shahidullah, President of Upazila Awami League, inaugurated the eye camp under the chairmanship of Maulana Md. Shah Alam, Principal of Ujli Dighirpar Alim Madrasa of the upazila. Advocate Md. Amanat Hossain Khan, Chairman of Upazila Parishad and Vice-President of Gazipur District Awami League addressed the function as the chief guest.
Among others present were MA Jalil, president and former chairman of Tok Union Awami League, prominent social worker Mosharraf Hossain Khan Chowdhury, expatriate from America, Samajbandhu Iqbal Hossain, president of Shahjahan Smriti Welfare Foundation, Momtaz Uddin, chief entrepreneur of Manabata Ghar and acting headmaster of Dighirpar Government Primary School.
