Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased rushed to the hospital morgue on Monday morning and they identified the bodies as their family members, report our Narayanganj Correspondent quoting Police.
They are Md Sabuj Sardar, son of Khairul Sardar, Faruk Hossain, 40, son of Jamal Uddin, and Jahirul Islam, son of Lokman Sheikh, inhabitants of Ataikula in Pabna district.
Faruk and Sabuj were identified by their fathers while Jahirul by his father-in-law Nazrul Islam.
Jamal Uddin told the media on Monday that Faruk was engaged with bus steering in Vulta-Gausia route in Narayanganj for 15 years and no case was against his son.
“Four persons, including Faruk, were picked up by some unknown miscreants who were identifying themselves as members of Detective Branch (DB) of Police from Gausia on Monday. His son was missing since then and rushed to hospital after seeing the photos on mass media,” he claimed.
Khairul claimed that Sabuj was a bakery worker and he was picked up ‘DB men’ from Naraynganj.
Najrul Islam said, “My son-in-law joined in a bakery with Sabuj and they were unaware about the tragic incident.”
One of the deads has been identified as Lutfor Rahman Molla, 37, a micro bus driver, resident of Rampura in Dhaka and hailed from Faridpur district, by his wife Reshma Begum on Sunday night. Reshma said that her husband went out for a trip on Friday afternoon and she talked with her husband around 1:00am on Saturday. After last conversation with Lutfor, the switch of his phone switch was found off and she had gone missing since then. A general diary was filed with the police station in connection with the missing incident, Reshman said. She also claimed that Lutfor, a father of two, was not involved in any of the criminal activities.
Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Superintendent of police, said they seized bullets, two pistols and a microbus from the scene. “Our initial investigation, which found pistols and bullets at the scene, suggests that an altercation between gangs or criminals might have led to the deaths,” the police officer said.
He also said the law enforcers were trying to find out the owner of the microbus by using its registration number.
Four bullet-hit corpses were found in front of Panchrukhi Government Primary School in Arihar upazila in Narayanganj district on Sunday, he said.
