Four women pedestrian were crushed to death under a truck at Punnomoti Noapara village in Burichong upazila on Tuesday morning. The deceased were identified as Salma Akter, 32, Jahanara Begum, 65, Monoara Begum, 45 and Ranu Ara Begum, 55, resident of the village. Police said the truck ran over a group of woman, numbering 7-8, when they were returning home from a Mahfil around 1am, leaving one dead on the spot and 5 others critically injured. Later, three of the injured died on the way to Comilla Medical College Hospital. Jahirul islam, officer-in-charge of Burichong Police Station, confirmed the incident.
