Police recovered the throat-slit bodies of four members of a family from their house in Jainabazar area of Sreepur Upazila in Gazipur district on Thursday afternoon.
The victim were identified as Fatema Akter, 40, wife of one Redowan Hossain Kajal, a Malaysian expatriate from Golabari village in Langair Union of Pagla Police Station in Mymensingh, her eldest daughter Sabrina Sultana Nura, 14, youngest daughter Haorin Hawa, 11, and disabled son Fadil, 6.
They had been living in their own residence purchased many years ago.
Expatriate Kajal’s younger brother Arif said that his elder brother Kajal has been living in Malaysia for a long time. His brother has no enemies. Confirming the matter to media, Sreepur Police Station Officer in-Charge (OC) Liakat Ali said that the police rushed to the spot after being informed about the matter.
A gang of miscreants might have killed the woman and her three children most probably on Wednesday night. But we couldn’t find the motive behind killing yet, the added.
The bodies were sent to hospital morgue for autopsy, the OC also added.
After the brutal murder, local MP Ikbal Hossain Sabuj and District Police Super Shamsunnahar also visited the spot.
