Quality Assurance Accreditation: Four skill providers get NSDA registration

In a robust effort to enhance the skills of the country’s workforce, National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) has made a breakthrough in quality assurance by issuing registrations to training institutions through scrutiny, as per qualities.
The NSDA under the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), for the first time, has provided registrations to four prominent training providers at a ceremony at its office in Dhaka on Thursday.
Md. Nojibur Rahman, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister handed over certificates to four institutions – Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre (BKTTC), Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Centre (BITAC), Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Mohila Technical Training Center, and UCEP Mirpur Technical School.
Md. Abdul Halim, Secretary of Industries and Md. Selim Reza, Secretary of Expatriates’ Welfare and Oversees Employment were present as special guests.
Md Faruque Hossain, Executive Chairman (Secretary) of the NSDA presided over the programme.
Speaking as the chief guest, Md. Nojibur Rahman said, besides adopting new technologies, the government has given highest priority to skills development for creating competent human resources for raising productivity to the desired level.
For attaining SDGs by 2030 and graduating Bangladesh to a developed nation in 2041 utilizing updated technologies, it is important to upskill the workforce of the country along with boosting the investment, he mentioned.
Mentioning that the government has formed NSDA for making necessary steps in building skilled workforce in the country to meet industry needs, he said the authority will coordinate and accredit quality of trainings provided by all institutes and certify at the end through assessment.
Speaking on the occasion, Md Faruque Hossain said, the NSDA issued certificates to the four institutes after completing formulation. He expressed his hope that all the skills providers will be registered with NSDA gradually to maintain quality issue as required by the market and certify national standard.
The NSDA is now working on issuing registrations to skills training providers as per the provision of the National Skills Development Authority Act 2018, he said adding that a total of 109 training institutes have applied for registration with NSDA which are now under scrutiny.
