Police in a drive arrested an alleged rapist and three of his associates from Chandranagar area under Bayezid thana early on Saturday.
The arrested were identified as M Hasan, 25, M Faruk, 22, Zubair Hossain, 23 and M Sarif Uddin, 23.
M Mohosin, officer-in-charge of Bayezid Police Station, said Hasan violated a garment worker on Friday evening with his three other friends around 8:00am at Chandranagar hilly area. After hearing the victim’s hue and cry, local people rushed to the spot and rescued the girl.
However, the four were managed to flee away from the spot. After the incident, the girl filed a case against the four persons.
