The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Tuesday sent four war crimes suspects from Mymensingh district to jail and set October 20 for holding further hearing in the case.
The accused are: Abdus Salam, 68, Suruj Ali Fakir, 70, Abdur Rahim, 66, and Jalal Uddin, 70. Five out of the total six accused in the case were arrested yesterday from Mymensingh and Panchagarh, within hours of issuing warrant against them by the tribunal. But police today produced four of them before the court.
Justice Anwarul Haque, Chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-1, sent them to jail as police produced the accused before the court.
On Monday the tribunal issued arrest warrant against them accepting a plea from prosecutor Abul Kalam.
