At least four people were killed in a head-on collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a lorry at Murshipur on Bogra-Nagarbari highway in Shahjadpur upazila on Thursday.
Three of the deceased were identified as Selim, 30, son of Saidul Islam from Kadaibabla village, Hasan, 10, son of
Abdul Karim from Harirampur village in Shahjadpur upazila, and three-wheeler driver Shamsul, 40, son of Yusuf Ali from Brahmakapalia village of Ullapara upazila.
Hasan Shamim Iqbal, officer-in-charge of Shahjadpur Police Station, said the Shahjadpur-bound auto-rickshaw collided with the clinker-laden lorry of ‘Aman Cement’ in the area at around 4pm, leaving Selim, Shamsul and another unidentified man dead on the spot and two other passengers injured.
The injured were rushed to Ullapara 50-bedded hospital where Hasan succumbed to his injuries.
