Four killed in road crashes

At least four more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Monday.
In Cumilla, a tractor driver named Khokon Mia, 24, was killed after a bridge broken during the brick laden tractor on bridge in the Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla.
The accident took place on Monday morning at Kadamtali of the Daudkandi-Batakandi road of the district.
Khokon, son of Ajman Mia of Mogachar village in Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamganj. Local sources said that around 15 years ago, under the Local Government Engineering Department, the bridge was built on Satanandee canal of sadar north union in Daudkandi upazila.
The middle of the bridge was broken two years ago after the sand-laden trawler hitit.
The upazila administration given the signboard on heavy vehicles not to ride on the bridge. Villagers said that the accident took place due to continuous heavy vehicular movement by the local brick and sand traders.
In Chattogram, one person was killed and two others critically injured in an accident on the Bypass Road of Sitakunda in Chattogram.
The accident occurred on Monday at 7am. The deceased was identified as Arif Hossain, 20, from Feni district town. One of the two wounded is Lal Khan (24). The identity of the another couldn’t be known.
Station Officer of Sitakunda Fire Station, Wasia Azad told media, a crash occurred when a covered van rammed the vehicle. The person who killed was in a car.
In Habiganj, a vegetable trader named Abdul Kaiyum, 51, was killed in a head on-collision with a stone-laden truck on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Shahjahanpur area.
On information, the Shayestaganj highway police recovered the deadbody from the spot.
The deceased was identified as Qayum, son of Mahmud Mia of Aminpur village. Officer-in-Charge of Shayestaganj Highway Police Station Jasim Uddin told the news media.
In Patuakhali, a child named Hafizur Rahman, 5, was killed in a road accident in Galachipa upazila of Patuakhali.
The accident took place on the Galachipa-Chikanikandi road near Dakuya Fulkhali Bridge on Monday.
The deceased was the son of Firoz Pader of Fulkhali area.
Galachipa Police Station Sub-Inspector Ibrahim Molla confirmed the news media.

On information, the Shayestaganj highway police recovered the body from the spot.
