At least four persons were killed and scores sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in Ashulia, outskirts of the capital, on Wednesday morning.
The victims were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 35,Abbas Ali, 55, Shafiqul Islam, 36, and Roknuzzman, 28.
Quoting the locals, Ashulia Police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafa Kamal said that a truck collided head-on with a cattle-laden pick-up van on the Bipail-Abdullahpur Road near Togabari area around 5:30am, leaving dead Rafiqul and Abbas on the spot and other ten people injured.
Of the injured, Shafiqul succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.
Meanwhile, bicyclist Roknuzzman was run over by a truck on Bipail-Abdullahpur Road near Jamgara in the morning.
