Lightning strikes injured four people in two separate incidents at Faridganj Upazila on Wednesday. The injured were admitted to Chandpur General Hospital in the afternoon.
The injured are identified Jahirul Islam, 35, son of Jamiluddin and Sohel Dewan 30,, son of Seraj Dewan- both of Asta village under Gupti union.
Mohen ,16, son of Khalilur Rahman, and Mohammad Hossain , 35, son of Dr Abu Jafar -both of Bashara village under Subidpur union – all under Faridganj Upazila.
Close relative Yunus Gazi said, Jahirul and Sohel were fishing in a ditch beside their homes when lightning struck them leaving them injured on the spot . It was then raining cats and dogs. On the other hand, No 1 Ward Member Noor Mohammad said, his nephews (brothers’ sons) -Mohen and Md Hossain were planting saplings of fruit trees in their open lands beside their homes at 1 pm when lightning suddenly struck them leaving them injured.
