Police in overnight anti-crime raids arrested four persons with huge fake foreign branded cosmetics from different areas in Durgapur Upazila in the district yesterday.
The arrested persons were identified as Nur Muhammad, 28, of Bashpukuria village under Durgapur Upazila and his co-villagers Rustam Ali, 25, his brother Mustakim Ali, 22, and Biplob Hossain, 25.
On a tip-off, the detective branch of the district police seized a bulk amount of fake cosmetics worth around Taka 5.60 lakh after searching their houses.
Superintendent of Police Masud Hossain told BSS that the arrested persons were involved in manufacturing the forged cosmetics and supplying those to various beauty parlors, gents parlor, saloon and cosmetics shops for a long.
