Four held with bombs, arms in C’nawabganj

Police arrested four persons along with 20 crude bombs and several locally made weapons as they allegedly tried to occupy a mango orchard at Chawlkkirti village in Shibganj upazila on Friday morning.
The arrested were identified as Monirul Islam, son of Anu Mondal, his brother Dulal Huda, Mohammad Dollar, son of late Abdul Quadir, and Mohammad Saddam, son of Sekandar Ali of the Chawlkkirti village.
A group of criminals started plucking mangoes off trees at the orchard of Naimul Haque around 7am after creating panic among
people by blasting several crude bombs, said Ashiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station. On information, police rushed in and arrested the four.
The law enforcers also recovered five maunds of mango, 20 crude bombs and several homemade weapons from their possession. Naimul filed a case in this connection.
