Chattogram Bureau :
Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) handed over the responsibilities for maintenance and preservations of four flyovers of the port city to Chattogram City Corporation . These flyovers are MA Flyover, Akhtaruzzaman Fly over, Kadamtali flyover and Dewanhat Flyover. CDA chairman Jahirul Alam Dobash formally handed over these flyovers to CCC Mayor AJM Nasiruddin at Tigerpass CCC Office Conference hall .
In that handing over ceremony, city mayor told that following the dicisions of public works department, the responsibilities of maintenance and preservations of these flyover have been handed over to us and CCC will try level best to comply the decisions. City Mayor in his short delivery said CCC won’t have such ability for maintenance and there are some lawful restrictions over it.
He mentioned that some repairing works in Dewanhat and Kadamtali flyor in upper and lower parts need to be done and we have shortage of fund also . He also mentioned that during the forthcoming visit of President Abdul Hamid who will stay in the local circuit house and we should be more responsible to the respective responsibilities. CDA chairman told that following the decisions of the concerned ministry these flyover have been handed over to CCC.
He mentioned CDA is a development body of a ministry and its prime duty is to construct the big projects and thereafter to transfer to local body organizations for preservation and maintenance.
Following the directives of the concerned authority, these flyovers handed over. In the handing over ceremony, /Chief Executive officer of CCC , chief engineers of both the agencies and the project directors were present in it.
