Four-day ToT program begins at FBCCI

‘Training for Trainers (ToT)’ has kicked off at the FBCCI aiming at developing trainers on Non-Tariff Barriers (NTBs) and Non Tariff Measures (NTMs) Environment in the SAARC region.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has initiated the 4-day program in collaboration with SAARC Trade Promotion Network (TPN) and GIZ of Germany, says a press release.
Main objective of the program is to build the capacity of the trainers on NTMs issues and to understand the use of NTMs and their implications for the formulation and implementation of effective development strategies.
It also targets to develop a better understanding of the prevailing NTMs and NTBs in SAARC countries.
The participants will also learn about the trade agreements among the SAARC countries and the salient features of NTMs and NTBs in respective countries.
Professor Enelli Murali Darshan and Professor Gutty Jayakar Rao, faculty members of the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, an organization under the Ministry of MSME, the government of India (NI-MSME) will conduct the training as resource persons.
Representatives from both government and private sectors including Ministry of Industries, Bangladesh Tariff Commission, SME Foundation, BSCIC, Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI), BSTI, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, BGMEA, BKMEA and BIDS are participating in the training.
