The 7th founding anniversary of TV channel “News24′ was celebrated in Bagerhat under the auspices of Ahsanul Karim, Bagerhat District based correspondent of the TV channel “News24′, one of the popular TV channels of the country the on Thursday in a befitting manner.
In this connection a lively discussion was held in the auditorium of Bagerhat Press Club with its President Nihar Ranjon Saha in the chair in the morning. While the address of welcome was given by Ahsanul Karin he explained the role played by the TV channel News24 for the cause of the country and her people during only the last 6 years. Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, former president of the Press Club and Bagerhat district based correspondent of the national English daily New Nation while was addressing the function as the chief guest told, a national TV channel can play an important role in the development and prosperity of a newly independent and democratic country like Bangladesh and the cause of her people.. He wished the longevity of the TV channel. It was also addressed among others by Al-haj Abdul Baki Talukdar, General Secretary of the club and members and office-bearers of the club like Prof. Mahfizur Rahman, Shawkat Ali Babu, Shaik Azmal Hossain, Israt Jahan, Khondokar Akmol Uddn Shaki, Nakib Sirajul Haq, Md. Shamsur Rahman and sport personality Sardar Faruq. They also wished the longevity of the TV channel News24.
In order to mark the founding ceremony a cake was ceremonially cut by the chief guest.
