Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia, Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad while he was speaking in a discussion meeting held in the local Zilla Parishad auditorium on Sunday on the occasion of celebrating the 4 decades-founding anniversary of Bagerhat Press Club highly praised the role of the journalists for creating field for the liberation movement of the country.
He added, they can also play such a role for the overall development of the country if thy discharge their duties as positive journalists. He also said that the journalists could do harm of the country if they discharge their duties as negative journalists.
The discussion meeting was also addressed by Alhaj Dr. Mozammel Hossain, MP , Alhaj Adv Mir Shawkat Ali, MP who is also the founding President of Bagerhat Press Club, Manjurul Islam Lyton, MP and Happy Boral, MP as the special guests while Tapan Kumar Biswas, DC, Bagerhat, Pankaj Chandra Roy,SP, Bagerhat, Dr. A.K. Azad Firoj Tipu, President, Bagerhat District Bar Association and Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, founder member of Bagerhat Press Club addressed the meeting as guests.
Founding anniversary of Bagerhat Press Club was ceremonially inaugurated by Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia, Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangas as the Chief Guest through hoisting the national flag in the Bagerhat Zilla Parishad Auditorium premises and releasing pigeons in presence of a large number of invited guests.
The day’s programme started with a colourful rally that started from the Zila Parishad auditorium premises paraded the main roads of Bagerhat district town. It was led by the Md. Fazle Rabbi Mia, Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad and it was attended by the journalists, lawyers, teachers, students and elites of the district town.
The day’s programme was rounded off with a colourful cultural function held in the same venue in the evening.
