The 70th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami League was observed in a befitting manner in Rampal on Sunday.
Rampal Upazilla AL chalked out an elaborate program to celebrate the day. To celebrate the day , a colorful rally was brought out at 10 a.m. with the participation of about two thousand activists of ten unions of Rampal that paraded the main spot of Rampal Bazar Area. After the rally a discussion meeting was held in Rampal Upazilla Auditoriam. Vice-President of Bagerhat Zilla AL Prof. Mollah Abdur Rouf, Upazilla Chairman Sk. Moajjem Hossain, Vice Chairman Nurul Haque Lipon, Mohila Vice Chairman Hosneara Mily, Sesshasebak League President Sardar Borhan Uddin, Chatraleague Secretary Sk. Sadi delivered an important speech on the day. Besides, Muktijoddha Commander Sk. Mojaffar Hossain, Upazilla AL Vice President Principal (Rt.) Motahar Rahman, AL leader Sk. Abdul Mannan , Atindranat Halder Dulal, Howlader Hafijur Rahman, Ex-Up Chairman Md. Bazlur Rahman, Hiron Das along with union president and secretary, ward president and secretary were also present in the function. The function was presided over by Upazilla AL president Alhaj Sk. Abdul Oahab and direted by Upazilla AL Organising Secretary Md. Hamim Nuri. The function ended s at 12 p.m.
BSS from Rangpur adds: The 70th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) was celebrated in the city on Sunday through various colourful programmes amid huge enthusiasm and festivity.
The founding anniversary was observed with a pledge to build a ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by realising visions 2021 and 2041 as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The district unit of AL hoisted the national and party flags at party office and placed wreaths at Bangabandhu’s Mural on the Bangabandhu Square in the city.
Besides, a colourful rally was brought out on the streets.
Later, a discussion was arranged on the Bangabandhu Square premises with Acting President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, its Organising Secretary Advocate Anwarul Islam, Treasurer Abul Kashem, Office Secretary Tauhidur Rahman Tutul and leaders of the district, city and upazila units of AL addressed the discussion.
The speakers said Bangabandhu and AL are inseparable as everlasting sources of inspirations, and the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build an economically advanced country.
Narrating the glorious history of AL since its inception, Advocate Rezaul Karim said the country achieved Independence through the War of Liberation in 1971 under the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He called upon leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies to work for ensuring well-being of common people as dreamt by Bangabandhu and highlight huge developments achieved during the past 10 years.
Besides, the city unit of AL, different associate bodies of AL and district
unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League celebrated the founding anniversary through various programmes in the city.
