Member of the Parliament (MP) of Dhaka-10, Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh laid the foundation stone of two Secondary Transfer Stations (STSs) at Companighat and Kalunagar of Hazaribagh Beribadh under “Urban Public and Environmental Health Sector Development Project (UPEHSDP).”
He mentioned in his speech that a significant improvement will be done in urban waste management and environmental health by establishing the first Secondary Transfer Station (STS) at Hazaribagh and Bangladesh will enter into a new era in waste management.
Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation, Project Director of Urban Public and Environmental Health Sector Development Project (UPEHSDP) and Chief Executive Officer of Dhaka South City Corporation were present on the occasion.
UPEHSDP is a project of Tk 555 crore being implemented under Local Government Division and jointly financed by ADB and Bangladesh Government.
Under UPEHSDP, Secondary Transfer Stations, Sanitary Landfills, Food Laboratories and other components are being implemented in seven City Corporations of the country.
