Cultural Affairs MinisterAsaduzzaman Noor MP laid the foundation stone of Fine Arts Academy (Shilpakala Academy)at Kushtia at a cost of 32 crore in the district on Wednesday.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor said that cultural promotion was a prerequisite to create conscious opinion of the masses to fight against any rise of militancy in the country.
The Minister said that various programs have been taken to spread art and culture in every educational institution in the district, according to direction Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif MP, Acting Secretary of Cultural Affairs ministry Ibrahim Hossain Khan, Director General of Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky, District Council Chairman, Police Super, General Secretary of District Awami League were present in the meeting.
The ceremony was presided over by Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia Zohir Raihan.
