Fortune Tour de Bangladesh cycling concludes

The final leg race Fortune Tour de Bangladesh cycling competition concluded on Friday at Hatirjheel in the city.
Veteran sports organiser and youth & sports secretary of Awami League Harun-ur-Rashid was present as the chief guest on the closing day of the competition and distributed the prizes.
Bangladesh Cycling Federation (BCF) vice president Tarik Iqbal Khan, BCF general secretary Imtiaz Khan Babul, Bangladesh edible oil general marketing manager Anam Ahmed, its head of marketing Shoib M Asaduzzaman, Bangladesh Handball Federation general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation general secretary Hasan Monir Sumon, Bangladesh Wrestling Federation General secretary Tabiur Rahman Palowan, Hatirjheel project director general Saeed Masud were present, among others, on the occasion.
The cyclists were given individual cash awards. First place finisher Sirajul Islam of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was awarded cash prize of Taka 3,00,000 while second place finisher Ripon Biswas of BGB was given cash award of Taka 2,00,000 and Alamgir Hossian of Bangladesh Army got Taka 1,00,000 as prize money.
Besides, eight next finishers were given Taka 25,000 each as cash prize-money.
Earlier, Fortune Tour de Bangladesh, the first of its kind mass cycling event styled after Tour de France, got underway in Bagerhat on Tuesday last amid huge fanfare.
The second day of race also saw the 40 cyclists took a ride through 84 kilometers of road from Gopalganj to Tungipara held on Wednesday last.
