Speakers said at a discussion that formulation of peoples-participatory and decentralized budget has become a demand of time for full-length reflection of the hopes and aspirations of the people in general.
Besides, they also said the budget formulation and implementation process should be transparent and accountable as dreamt by the general public. To this end, there is no alternative to strengthen the local government institutions.
They were addressing a workshop titled “Decentralized and Participatory Budget and Role of Local Government” held at Master Chef Restaurant in Rajshahi city Thursday.
Local unit of Campaign for Good Governance (CGG) organized the workshop where more than 30 public representatives both male and female from Rajshahi City Corporation and different Pourasava, Upazila and Union Parishads attended.
