A former BCL leader Arun Jyoti Bhattachariya, who is renowned as transparent and a man of integrity to the people of Nasirnagar Upazila has announced his candidacy in the upcoming upazila polls as a vice-chairman candidate.
He announced it a crowded press conference held in Nasirnagar Press Club of the district recently .
He said in his written statement that he came to the politics from his being a school student during the beginning of 90th decade in anti-Ershad movement. Later he became the vice-president of Nasirnagar upazila unit BCL from 1997 to 2006.
Having been graduated in English literature from Kolkata University he joined as cultural affair secretary of upazila unit AL in 2014.
He also informed that in UP election of 2016, he left the candidacy of chairman post in favour sacrificing to another aspirants in consideration of party discipline. He also sacrifice his candidacy in Zilla Parishad election as the post of member.
Renowned as transparent politician who also fosters the spirit of pro-liberation and non-communalism for long also uttered that if elected he would fight against militancy, drug abuse and root out terrorism from Nasirnagar, he vowed.
He also announced that he would devote himself to digitalise his own upazila Nasirnagar.
Among others, who were attended to the press conference were Nasirnagar Upazila Unit AL Organising Secretary Syed Liakat Abbas Tipu, Office Secretary Sujit Chakrabarty, upazila unit BCL convener Nasir Uddin Rana, which was also chaired by Tapan Roy Chowdhury, General Secretary of Nasirnagar Sadar Union Unit AL.
