The students of Finance and Banking Department of the Rajshahi University (RU) formed a human chain protesting the abduction of M R M Akhtaruzzaman, a former student of the department and Senior Assistant Vice-President of Exim Bank Ltd .
They formed the human chain in front of Senate Building of the University at around 11.00 on Monday.
The Chairman of the Department Prof Amzad Hossain, Director General of IBA Dr Rafiqul Islam, Dr A K M Abdul Mazid and Shamima Zaman, wife of Akhtaruzzaman spoke at the programme.
Speakers alleged that the abducted has been not rescued yet though 10 days of abduction has passed away and they also sought the intervention of Prime Minister regarding this.
No one is safe in the country where a person has been abducted in day light, they added. More than two thousands students of the department and others official were present there.
