A man was killed under the wheels of a train at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Thursday morning.
The deceased name is Nirod Boron Roy, 60, who was a former principal of Ispahani Girls’ School and College.
Nirod’s house is in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district. He used to lived with his family in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area.
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Outpost In-charge Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter and said that his dead body sends to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
The railway police were told to take measures in this regard, he added.

Deceased relative said that Nirod retired from the
college last January. In the morning, he left the house for going college in Mogbazer. However he got out from car in Farmgate area due to a traffic jam.
Later, he was walking on rail line for going college. When he reached in Shutki Poti in Karwan Bazer then fell under the train. At this time he is talking on the phone. The then, he rushed to DMCH where the doctor declared him dead, they said. Rakib-ul Hasan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Dhaka Railway Police Station (Kamalapur) said they are investigation the matter.
