A former member of Parliament and a high-ranking office-bearer of now-defunct Hefazat-e-Islam has been arrested inSylhet, police said on Friday.
CID sleuths from Dhaka nabbed advocate Shahinur Pasha,Hefazat’s legal secretary, from a mosque in the city’s Shubidbazar area, where he was staying for Itikaf, early this morning.
Airport police station’s Officer-in-Charge Khan Md Moinul Jakir said the special CID team took Shahinur to Dhaka on a flight.
