Former JU VC Khondokar Mustahidur Rahman passes away

Professor Khondokar Mustahidur Rahman, former Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) died of Covid-19. The veteran educationist breathed his last around 4.30 pm today while undergoing treatment at Islami Bank General Hospital in the capital.
Former JU registrar and General Secretary of JU Alumni Association, Abu Bakr Siddique confirmed his death.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam expressed deep shock at the death of Prof Khondokar Mustahidur Rahman.
The VC also prayed for the eternal peace of departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Professor Khondokar Mustahidur Rahman was a renowned educationist and economist. He completed his S.S.C from Dhaka College School in 1964 and H.S.C from the same college in 1966. As a student of Economics, he started his university life in Dhaka University in 1966. He obtained MSC from Islamabad University in Economics in 1969.
Later, he joined Jahangirnagar University as a Lecturer of Economics on 12 January 1971. In 2004 he was elected the Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University.
