Former Secretary of the Ministry of Education Syed Ataur Rahman died at United Hospital in the city on Saturday morning. He was 63.
He left behind his wife, one daughter and one son and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death.
He was buried at his village home Richi under Habiganj sadar upazila of the district after Namaz-e-Janaza.
Syed Ataur Rahman joined as the Secretary of the Ministry of Education in 2009. Before that he was Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock for four years.
