Former Dutch striker Nistelrooy to coach PSV

Dutch football club PSV on Wednesday presented former striker Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new head coach starting next season.
45-year-old Van Nistelrooy has signed a contract for three years until 2025. He replaces Roger Schmidt who will leave his post at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Van Nistelrooy had a successful playing career for FC Den Bosch, Heerenveen, PSV, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Hamburg, Malaga and the Dutch national team. In his period for PSV between 1998 and 2001 he scored 62 times in 67 matches.
In the 1998-1999 and 1999-2000 seasons Van Nistelrooy was the top scorer of the Dutch Eredivisie. In 2002-2003 he finished as the Premier League’s top scorer, and in 2006-2007 he scored the most goals in Spain’s La Liga. He hung up his boots in 2012 and has held several coaching posts at PSV since then.
