Former BCL leader gunned down in Ctg

A former local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was shot to death by a group of miscreants in Shershah Colony area under Bayezid thana of the city on Tuesday night. The deceased was identified as Mehedi Hasan Badol, 40, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, a resident of the area, and a former president of BCL Panchlaish thana unit. He had joined ruling Awami Leagues’ youth front Juba League after resigning as Panchlaish BCL president. Inspector Nurul Afsar of Bayezid Police Station, said miscreants opened fire on him when he was standing in front of his house in the area around 10pm, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital after being rescued by a patrol team of police. Later he succumbed to his injuries around 10:30pm. He was also follower of Chittagong city corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin, added the inspector.
