Formation of upazila committees of BSOA decided

Bangladesh Shops Owners Association (BSOA) , Chittagong district unit held a press conference at its Reazuddin Bazar office premises on Saturday to press home their demands of decreasing the trade lincense fees, other municipal taxes irrespective of all types of business houses, shops etc.
 The press meet was told that the present govt has increased the Trade License(TL) fees from current fiscal by multiple levels and they demands for lessening these fees . Mentionable that in a joint meeting in between BSOA central committee and the local govt authorities recently, the traders were assured to bring the TL fees at a affordable stage. In the meantime, TL fees for small traders have been decreased to Tk.1000 instead of Tk.3000 but other TL fees not yet to be re-fixed, sources said.
The renewal of TL for current fiscal extended upto December next with reduced fees . The press meet also condemned the harassment of VAT officials in realizing VAT from the traders . It also hailed the govt policy on TL and VAT for fixing sale targets . In order to transform the BSOA into a organized business forum through participation of all businessmen and declared December’15 as organizational month for reorganizing the BSOA .
The press meet also declared that to form Bazar committees in all upazilas of the north and south district of chittagong within December and holding of views exchange meetings in all city market committees to obtain their opinions .
The Press meet also informed that Chittagong unit of BSOA has taken decision to include City Mayor as chairman of the Advisory committee and all Chittagong- based lawmakers as Advisors of the BSOA, ctg district unit . Presidents of Chittagong chamber, Chittagong Women Chamber, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce will also be included as advisors of the district committees. Among others, President Alhaj Salamat Ali, Alhaj Shahabuddin, Syed Sagir Ahmed, Syed Khorshed Alam, Md. Zakir Hossain, Md. Sagir, Abdur Razzak were present in the press meet, a BSOA sources said.
