Speakers at a discussion demanded immediate government’s initiative to form a commission to unearth the behind the scene of masterminds of August 15 carnage that saw the brutal killing of Bangabandhu and most of his family members.
Under the arrangement of Bangladesh Press Council, the discussion and doa mahfil was arranged on Thursday at its Segunbagicha office on Topkhana road in the city.
Press Council Chairman Justice Md. Nizamul Huq Nasim chaired the discussion moderated by its secretary Md. Shah Alam.
Members of Press Council and journalist leader Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul and Dr Utpal Sarker, journalists SM Jahirul Islam, Lion Nazrul Islam and Mahbubul Islam, among others, spoke on the occasion, reports BSS.
Khondker Zillur Rahman recited one of his poems on the occasion.
The speakers discussed life and works of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members.
Prayers were offered seeking eternal peace of departed souls of August 15 carnage martyrs including Bangabandhu. Mawlana Mufti Sheikh Azim Uddin administered the doa mahfil.
