The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 on Wednesday reset March 15 for submitting formal charge against 19 alleged Razakar kingpins from Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar.
Justice Anwarul Haque, chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-1, set the date rejecting the formal charge pressed by the prosecution today as it contained the name of an accused, who has died already.
The investigation agency while probing the crimes committed by Cox’s Bazar Razakar kingpins Salamat Ullah Khan, Abdur Rashid and Maulavi Jakaria, found the involvement of another 16 people with the crimes against humanity and acting on their plea, the tribunal had issued warrants for their arrest.
Police after that arrested Salamat, Rashid, Shamsuddoha, Jinnat Ali, Maulavi Osman Gani, Nurul Islam and Badshah Miah at different times.
Of them, Shamsuddoha died in police custody on May 27, 2015.
