Md Habibur Rahman Badshah, the first prosecution witness (PW) in the trial of Forkan Mallik, alleged Razakar commander from Mirzaganj of Patuakhali, on Monday submitted his testimony, accusing Mallik for killing a man and raping his daughter.
Badshah, 59, from village Kakrabunia under Mirzaganj upazila of Patuakhali, today testified as PW-1 at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2.
“Razakars led by Mallik along with Pakistani army raided our village on August 22, 1971. They entered the house of Awami League supporter Hatem Ali and started to drag her daughter out from the house. As Hatem tried to resist, Mallik shot and killed him and took his daughter away. Mallik and his cohorts took her to Patuakhali Circuit House and raped her. They left her abandoned in front her home three days later,” said Badshah.
After his deposition, defence counsel Abdus Salam Khan cross-examined him. The tribunal then adjourned the hearing till January 21, leaving the cross-examination incomplete.
