Bangladesh Awami League has nominated Betagi Upazila Awami League General Secretary Maksudur Rahman Forkan as UP chairman candidate of Betagi Upazila Parishad recently.
Maksudur Rahman Forkan who is five times elected Union Parishad Chairman of Hosnabad Union has been involved in students’ politics since 1978. He was Joint Secretary of Dhaka City Awami League in 1983 and then he was Organising Secretary of Betagi Upazila Awami League in 1988 . Later, he was elected Senior Joint Secretary of Betagi Upazila Awami League .
Forkan has been elected best UP chairman of Barishal Division in 1998 and in 1994 in Barguna district . He visited different countries as best UP chairman .
Meanwhile, he has been launching election campaign across the upazila and people from all walks of life welcomed him a party candidate .
