Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique urged everyone to be united and come forward for preventing evil politics what pushes the country into darkness.
The DU VC made this appeal on Friday while inaugurating a day-long 4th reunion of Dhaka University Rokeya Hall Alumnae Association at TSC auditorium.
“The country is passing through the situation -where a group is trying to move the country into right track …but some particular quarters are trying to push the country into darkness which needs to be resisted”, said the VC.
The problem is not persisting only in the developing countries …but it is prevailing in the developed countries also, he said.
Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Nasrin Ahmad and President of Dhaka University Alumnae Association and noted Industrialist A K Azad attended as the special guests while Rokeya Hall Alumnae Association President Professor Dr Rawshan Ara Feroz presided over the function.
Dr Arefin said those who are being carried out repression on the people in home and abroad in the name of only religion which need to be checked.
On behalf of the Rokeya hall alumnae association, former seven students of the Dhaka University were awarded for their contribution to the society.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury was present as the chief guest at the afternoon session of the reunion programme.
More than thousand students participated in the reunion programme.
