Forging social movement against corruption can be the vital means of building a society free from all injustice and poverty.
Community participation towards the anti-corruption campaign has become an urgent need for building a mass-opinion against the social menace.
The observation came at a view-sharing meeting at restaurant in Rajshahi on Thursday. Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and city unit of Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) jointly organized the meeting.
ACC Divisional Director Abdul Aziz Bhuiyan and Deputy Director Abdul Karim addressed the discussion as chief and special guests respectively with CPC President Yeahia Mollah in the chair.
Former Chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Tanbirul Alam, retired
Chief Medical Officer of Rajshahi University Dr Mirja Wazed Beg, Director of
Barendra Unnayan Prochesta Foyzullah Chowdhury, Additional Public Prosecutor
of Judge Court Nasrin Akhter, CPC General Secretary Rashed Ibney Obayed and
President of Rajshahi Metropolitan Press Club Mominul Islam Babu also spoke.
The discussants unanimously laid importance on creation of awareness among
mass people, especially the young generation, to eliminate corruption from
the society.
They opined institutional corruption have to check first before taking
lawful action against a person who involved with corruption willingly or
unwillingly. It is impossible for the ACC alone to fight corruption. A
concerted effort is crucially important to check bribery.
